Abstract of Elephant25 viewsAbstract of Elephant
A painting, which, I hope, makes the viewer smile. Different parts of the anatomy of elephants are superimposed on each other to give the effect of the slow, steady swaying movement of this wonderful creature!

Light has come into the World44 viewsLight has come into the World
The atmosphere I hope to have created in this painting is contemplative, mysterious and yet full of joy. Around the manger are Joseph, Mary and the three Wise Men. Their faces are not painted in any detail in order to shift the focus of attention to the light and its significance

The Sea, The Sea26 viewsThe Sea, The Sea
This title is shared with Iris Murdoch’s novel, but has nothing to do with the novel itself! In this abstract impression of the sea, I hope you feel a sense of its movement, tremendous power and beauty.

This is a painting that needs to be viewed from a distance. If you stand too close to it, you will only see texture and colour - but no form. The man with the beard and bare shoulders is turned towards the right-hand side of the painting and has his eyes closed. He is touched by golden dabs of light to indicate his peaceful state.

This is my Son whom I love20 viewsThis is my Son whom I love.
The people and the cross are out of perspective to add a certain disjunction and to give more emotion to the painting. The colours used are also chosen to add more intensity to the painting

Eve31 viewsThis painting requires a lot of studying in order to see what it is. If you view it from a distance, you should eventually see the face of a woman, pleasant but sorrowful, with the red piece of an apple in her mouth. At the bottom of the painting, there is a snake-like hand, which is about to devour the apple.
If you then shift the focus of your attention and let the top part of the hand/snake become the mouth of a distorted, anguished face, you see the double image of the face of Eve. This represents man’s continual struggle between good and evil.
